The real estate industry is calling for better data, greater transparency, and digital tools across the value chain.
This is addressed by Realdania's initiative Innovation to Market, which supports companies with new solutions that can contribute to more sustainable construction, and helps them from development and testing to application in the market.
Seven companies have received support in the latest round of Innovation to Market, including Upsite.
Upsite's contribution is a digital climate adaptation module that enables property owners and managers to get an overview of climate risks across the entire portfolio, instead of having to assess each property individually.
The module scans the properties for risks such as cloudbursts and flooding and automates parts of the documentation that is currently often prepared manually. The user can choose to stop at an initial screening, or proceed to a full analysis with concrete action plans for the individual property.
The goal is that the risk is not just identified, but translated into concrete action before the damage occurs.
“The support from Realdania means that we can continue our work to further develop the climate adaptation module and bring it to more people in the industry. Climate risk is no longer just a question of weather, it is also a question of the value of buildings and of being able to document risks to, for example, banks and insurance. This requires good tools,” says Anne Larsen, CEO at Upsite.
